The effects of demographic change on the situation of workers and others employed in European farming

This brochure has been carried out in the framework of the European project on demographic challenges  in agriculture, with the financial support from the European Commission (DG EMPL) and in partnership with our affiliated organizations in the agricultural sector. It presents a common definition of demography, empasizes the demands made on agriculture and the effects of demographic change on the agricultural sector and finally, develops approaches to solving the problems. 

EFFAT is the European Federation of Food, Agriculture and Tourism Trade Unions. As a European Trade Union Federation representing 120 national trade unions from 35 European countries, EFFAT defends the interests of more than 22 million workers towards the European Institutions, European employers’ associations and transnational companies.
