Concerned over the rapid diffusion of the “sharing economy” in tourism (i.e. Internet based offers for accommodation and transport, such as Airbnb and Uber), EFFAT adopted a common position during the latest Executive Committee meeting. The text calls on policy makers to avoid that the sharing economy causes unfair competition and social dumping, and to collect more coherent data about its scope and impact in hospitality and tourism.
